Treatments
Our Physiotherapists will use medically proven techniques that are currently available through both the National Health Service and private hospitals. the treatment you receive will be the most appropriate to your problem and we will fully appraise you of the methods and expected outcomes.
During the initial consultation you will be asked about the current problem, the history of the current problem and questions about your general health. A thorough physical examination of the area will then be carried out.
In some cases we may need to liaise with your GP, consultant or other health/sport professional. This is only done with your consent.
In each case we will offer advice on the day-to-day management of your injury. Current treatments include:
- Exercises
- Individually tailored to address the problems found in your physiotherapy assessment. As well as rehabilitating injuries and post-surgery we can also look at your posture and muscle imbalances and formulate a plan to target areas of weakness, restriction or poor movement patterns.
- Spinal/Joint Mobilisations and Manipulations
- Graded manipulations of the spine or other joints to restore movement, relieve pain and aid postural correction.
- Soft Tissue Mobilisations
- Myofascial release, trigger point massage, deep transverse frictions, muscle energy techniques, positional release and massage. To relieve pain, mobilise tight tissue, restore movement and aid correct muscle function.
- Sports Massage
- Deep massage tailored to your needs for injury prevention, therapeutic benefits and pre and post events.
- Acupuncture
- Dry needling and electroacupuncture for relief of pain and muscle spasm.
- Electrotherapy
- Ultrasound, Interferential, Pulsed Magnetic Therapy or TENS are all used to promote healing and to relieve pain.
- Pilates
- One to one sessions available with a Chartered Physiotherapist
- Advice and Education
- Given in relation to work, home, sport and general activities, to aid your recovery from injury and pain.
