About physiocure®

physiocure® is an establised physiotherapy clinic in North Leeds which offers a high standard of diagnosis and treatments within a superb setting. It's aim was to have a facility where clinical physiotherapy could be combined with rehabilitation in a 'state of the art' gym and pool.

Louise Grant (nee Davies)

Louise

Louise is a Chartered Physiotherapist who qualified from Bradford School of Physiotherapy 19 years ago in 1992. After graduating, Louise worked in the NHS hospitals in Leeds for 8 years working in different specialities to eventually become a senior physiotherapist specialising in musculoskeletal problems.

Louise has worked in private practice since 1998, initially part-time but then full time in 2000.

Since 1998, Louise has been the physiotherapist to the Great Britain Sport Jujitsu Squad. She has spent ten years treating different fighters in national and international tournaments. The Squad have secured the Gold medal in each World Championships for the past 13 years; the most recent event was the WCJJO Jujitsu World Championships Sept 2011 in Las Vegas.

Louise has also spent five years in the past working with elite tennis players from the LTA.

Louise and Anna are the joint proprietors of Physiocure and between them see a whole range of different sports people and people with a wide range of problems.

Specialist post-graduate training is done every year by the whole team where we keep up to date with current treatments and research. ’Since 2009, Louise has been working as a Specialist Hip Physiotherapist at Hip-Physiocure. Louise sees a large caseload of hip impingement patients and has personally developed a hip arthroscopy rehabilitation program and written a specific hip arthroscopy hydrotherapy program which she has taught to fellow hip physiotherapy colleagues.

Louise initially trained in acupuncture 14 years ago and has continued to keep up to date with yearly courses. Other specialist areas are in muscle imbalance problems, trigger point therapy, connective tissue manipulation and myofascial release, joint mobilisation, sports injuries, spinal and postural problems. Louise is also a qualified 'Modern Pilates' instructor.

Anna Nelson

Anna

Anna is a Chartered Physiotherapist who completed her physiotherapy degree in Liverpool in 1997, 12 years ago. After graduating, Anna worked within the NHS until 2000 when she moved into the private sector, specialising in sports injuries and musculoskeletal problems.

Anna's past experience has included working with professional rugby teams and involvement with the Lawn Tennis Association elite players alongside Louise.

Anna also did guest lecturing to third year physiotherapy students at the University of Huddersfield.

Her expertise is now channelled in the provision of physiotherapy to professional horse riders, including Great Britain Dressage Riders.

Anna and Louise are the joint proprietors of Physiocure and between them see a whole range of different sports people and people with a wide range of problems.

Eliza Burrell

Eliza

Eliza is a Chartered Physiotherapist who qualified from Liverpool University 6 years ago in 2003.

She has had 6 years experience working in the NHS working in a variety of specialities gaining valuable experience and is currently a senior physiotherapist in the musculo-skeletal team.

Eliza has developed a special interest in treating musculoskeletal conditions, and to this end has completed a number of post-graduate courses to enhance her degree training in physiotherapy treatments including acupuncture, Mckenzie techniques for treating low back pain and the assessment and treatment of knee and shoulder conditions.

Eiiza joined Physiocure in October 2007 and is enjoying using her specialist skills to treat private patients.

Jane Phillips

Jane

Jane is a Chartered Physiotherapist who graduated from Beersheva University 23 years ago in 1986.

After graduating, Jane has worked in various hospitals in different specialities to eventually become a senior physiotherapist specialising in musculoskeletal problems.

Jane has completed specialist physiotherapy and pilates training in 'Women's Health' which has enabled her to become experienced in treating ante-natal and post-natal patients, which includes incontinence problems and spinal, muscle and joint related problems.

Jane initially trained in acupuncture six years ago and has continued to keep up to date with yearly courses.

Jennie Owst

Junior Chartered Physiotherapist

Jennie

Jennie is a junior physiotherapist, who has just graduated from Bradford University with a First Class Honours Degree in Physiotherapy. Prior to her degree, Jennie spent many years working as a fully qualified sports masseur and sports therapist.

Jennie is already a qualified sports masseur and health/fitness professional and is providing her expertise in these areas to Physiocure patients.

Jennie recently provided sports massage to fighters competing at the 'Four Nations Jujitsu Tournament' alongside Louise Grant the Team physio.

She has experience in pre and post event sports massage and has worked with patients from varying sporting backgrounds.

Suzannah Jones

Julie Reynolds

Physiotherapy Assistant

Julie assists the Physiotherapists at Physiocure with Rehabilitation of specific neck, back and hip problems. She has had specific training in hip arthroscopy rehab with Louise Grant and Anna Nelson and personally has many years of experience as a pilates instructor. As a team, they have developed a hip arthroscopy specialist pilates program.
