About physiocure

physiocure is an establised physiotherapy clinic in North Leeds which offers a high standard of diagnosis and treatments within a superb setting. It's aim was to have a facility where clinical physiotherapy could be combined with rehabilitation in a 'state of the art' gym and pool.

physiocure @ Esporta, Cookridge Hall is the result.

Louise Grant (nee Davies)

Louise

Louise is a Chartered Physiotherapist who qualified from Bradford School of Physiotherapy in 1992. After graduating, Louise worked in the NHS hospitals in Leeds for 8 years working in different specialities to eventually become a senior physiotherapist specialising in musculoskeletal problems.

Louise has worked in private practice since 1998, initially part-time but then full time in 2000.

Since 1998 Louise has been physiotherapist to the Great Britain Sport Jujitsu Squad. She has spent ten years treating different fighters in national and international tournaments. The squad have secured the Gold medal in each World Championships for the past ten years; the most recent event in Jersey during September 2007.

Louise has also spent five years in the past working with the elite tennis players from the LTA.

Louise and Anna are the joint proprietors of Physiocure and between them see a whole range of sports people and people with a wide range of problems.

Specialist post-graduate training is done every year by the whole team where we keep up to date with current treatments and research.

Louise initially trained in acupuncture eleven years ago and has continued to keep up to date with yearly courses. Other specialist areas are in muscle imbalance problems, trigger point therapy, connective tissue manipulation and myofascial release, joint mobilisation, sports injuries, spinal and postural problems. Louise has also qualified 'Modern Pilates' instructor.

Anna Nelson

Anna

Anna is a Chartered Physiotherapist who completed her physiotherapy degree in Liverpool in 1997. After graduating, Anna worked within the NHS until 2000 when she moved into the private sector, specialising in sports injuries and musculoskeletal problems.

Anna's past experience has included working with professional rugby teams and involvement with the Lawn Tennis Association elite players alongside Louise.

Anna also did guest lecturing to third year physiotherapy students at the University of Huddersfield.

Her expertise is now channelled in the provision of physiotherapy to professional horse riders.

Anna and Louise are the joint proprietors of Physiocure and between them see a whole range of sports people and people with a wide range of problems.

Judy Bullough (nee Gibson)

Judy

Judy is a Chartered Physiotherapist who qualified from Birmingham University in 1995. After graduating, Judy worked in the NHS and private hospitals working in different specialities to eventually become a senior physiotherapist specialising in musculoskeletal problems.

Judy gained a wealth of experience in sports injuries working at the specialist sports injuries clinic at Durham University in the past where many high level competitive athletes would attend for treatment and rehabilitation.

Judy has been part of the Physiocure team since January 2004.

Judy's specialist areas are in assessing and treating patients with cycling and climbing injuries. As well as having considerable physiotherapy experience in these sports, Judy has a strong personal interest and enjoyment of them.

Judy has extensive post-graduate experience in muscle imbalance problems, acupuncture, trigger point therapy, connective tissue manipulation and myofascial release, joint mobilisation, sports injuries, spinal and postural problems. Judy is also a qualified Pilates instructor with the Australian Pilates Institute.

Joanne Mullarky

Joanne

Joanne is a Chartered Physiotherapist who qualified from Sheffield Hallam University in 2002. Joanne has developed specific interest in musculoskeletal problems and sports injuries and rehabilitation since qualifying with her Physiotherapy Degree. She has gained valuable experience of musculoskeletal conditions whilst working in the musculoskeletal teams within the NHS.

Joanne has also gained experience working as a physiotherapist with several rugby clubs, including the Leeds Rhinos; providing pitch-side physiotherapy and rehabilitation sessions.

Joanne has been part of the Physiocure team since February 2005.

In addition to her work at Physiocure, Joanne works as a specialist senior musculoskeletal physiotherapist within the NHS and has held this position for the last three years.

Joanne has undergone extensive post-graduate education and training in acupuncture, muscle imbalance concepts and rehabilitation, assessment and diagnosis of musculoskeletal conditions, connective tissue and myofascial release, trigger point massage, pain management and education.

Joanne has also qualified in exams to be a specialist McKenzie Physiotherapist dealing in the assessment, treatment and management of spinal problems and disorders.

Joanne is currently undertaking further qualifications within physiotherapy in order to ensure she is up-to-date with the current research of musculoskeletal conditions and rehabilitation and patient management.

Eliza Burrell

Eliza

Eliza is a Chartered Physiotherapist who qualified from Liverpool University in 2003.

She has had 5 years experience working in the NHS working in a variety of specialities gaining valuable experience and is currently a senior physiotherapist in the musculoskeletal team.

Eliza has developed a special interest in treating musculoskeletal conditions, and to this end has completed a number of post-graduate courses to enhance her degree training in physiotherapy treatments including acupuncture, McKenzie techniques for treating low back pain and the assessment of knee and shoulder conditions.

Eliza joined Physiocure in October 2007 and is enjoying using her specialist skills to treat private patients.
