Louise Grant and Anna Nelson have a special interest in hip problems; in particular femoral acetabular impingment (fai), pincer deformity, CAM deformity, dysplasia, hip deformities, and labral tears. They provide specialist hip physiotherapy to patients with hip problems pre and post operatively, and to patients who alternatively wish to manage their condition non-surgically.
They have experience in post operative management and rehabilitation following arthroscopic hip labral repairs and resections, correction of pincer and CAM deformities, total hip replacement and peri-acetabular osteotomy (PAO).
Louise and Anna work closely with hip surgeons, often attending consultant clinics with their patients and observing surgery in order to provide the most effective rehabilitation for that particular patient.
They attend specialist hip conferences and teaching sessions run by internationally respected hip surgeons to keep up to date with current research.
Anna and Louise fully assesss each patient and work out an appropriate treatment plan to run alongside and compliment the surgeon's protocol to assist rehabilitation. Examples of treatments used are myofascial release, manual therapy, acupuncture, muscle energy techniques, deep soft tissue massage, cupping, electrotherapy, hydrotherapy, muscle imbalance correction exercises, pilates, posture and lifestyle advice.

Louise has done two presentations for 'The London Hip Arthroscopy Centre' in Feb'11. This was a hip masterclass hosted by Professor Schilders and Vikas Khanduja.
Louise's talks were 'The Sacroiliac joint and it's relationship to the hip arthroscopy patient' and 'Hip Arthroscopy Rehabilitation - principles and pitfalls.'
March’11 Louise Grant and Professor Schilders presented a Hip Masterclass to the North Yorkshire NHS trust Physiotherapists.
